Three thousand years old city with the oldest University among Croatians (1396) , built in the center of the Croatian Adriatic, full of historical, cultural monuments and dynamic history, often destructed and devastated like in 1202 when the city was conquered and burned by the Crusaders and Venetians. Check in to the hotel. After we will explore Zadar with a touristic guide: Old city: Church of St. Donat; the Roman Forum; the Cathedral of St. Anastasia; the Gate of the city; the ancient walls of the city; the “Hello sun” uses solar energy to create a show that appears at night in an impressive light show; the “Organ of the sea”, the only organ which, unlike ordinary organ, uses air-driven by sea waves. Dinner. Free evening. We recommend to spend some time “sitting” on “Organ of the sea” listening to the music of the sea testing great Zadar Maraskino which was served even on Titanic 1912 and many royal courts.

Created initially as an ancient Croatian castrum at the bottom of St. Michael’s Fortress that still dominates the town. It was a city of King Petar Krešimir IV (11.c.) that’s why it is called City of Krešimir. In the center of the city one beauty is standing proudly for centuries – St. James Cathedral, entirely built of stone, no other material was used; it is unique in its brave structure of stone slabs and ribs, with no binding material; it is also unique among renaissance churches in its trefoil front facade; finally, it is unique in the harmony of its architecture and the row of 71 realistic sculptural portraits around it. Also a UNESCO heritage site! We will see it all live with a guide.
